Session 1: 9:20 - 10:20 OnCourse Lesson Planner Come see how schools throughout New Jersey are using OnCourse Lesson Planner to integrate, track and analyze the state educational standards, curriculum and more. Implementing the K-8 Technology Standards Learn how to successfully integrate New Jersey's Technology Standards within the K-8 curriculum. The Power of MS Producer Learn how to use Microsoft Producer (a FREE PowerPoint add-on) to create web-based instructional materials and stand-alone multimedia programs. See how the combination of slides, video and audio content allow students to create powerful digital projects. Experience Moodle Moodle is a FREE open source learning management system rapidly finding its way into K-12 schools where it is typically used for blended instruction. Participants will experience Moodle from a student's perspective by taking a toy Moodle course. If time permits, we will examine one or more actual Moodle courses that exemplify best practices. .... and Technology for All! Focus on ways to adapt the learning environment to meet the needs of all students, through the principles of Universal Design for Learning. This session will offer a guided glimpse into the progressive Educational and Assistive Technologies being employed to serve students with a variety of needs. Participants will be provided with Web resources to support students across curriculum areas. Are You Feeling Googly? Google for Educators includes world mapping tool Google Earth, an online collaborative word processing and spreadsheet program, a 3-D modeling program called SketchUp, and much much more. Learn about the variety of FREE tools Google offers for educators and how you can apply these tools in your classrooms and among your staff. Let’s Tell a Digital Story! Get an exciting introduction to digital storytelling! Participants will become familiar with the elements and techniques of effective digital storytelling, as well as ideas for implementing storytelling in their classroom. Participants will learn how to use Frames to create original digital stories that include images, effects, music, and narration. Reading Difficulties? Retrain Your Brain with Fast ForWord Fast ForWord is a state-of-the-art computer based training program that builds language skills essential for reading, speaking and listening. Session 2: 10:30 - 11:30 Recommendations for Assessing the 8.1 Standard All school districts must fully implement the requirements of including the 8.1 Standard in the general education curriculum and report the technological literacy of all students by the end of the eighth grade. Technology in the World Language & ESL Classrooms This workshop is designed for World Language and ESL teachers who want to improve their knowledge of technology and how it relates to classroom instruction. Moving Forward with LoTi This past year the NJ DOE in working with NBEA opened up the use of LoTi to better help districts implement technology into the curriculum. In this workshop the presenter will share how one school district, Shamong, has begun to utilize the LoTi philosophy to get a better grasp on where they are and where they are going with technology. Tween Social Networking Sites: They're Heeeeeere! Everyone knows MySpace and Facebook are growing exponentially. Social networking environments for tweens like Club Penguin, WhyVille.net and Imbee.com have sprung up. Are these sites dangerous? What do these developments mean for us as educators and parents? Come find out how and why social networking education makes sense for today’s youth. Thinking Outside the Book Altered books have been used by artists as a portable way of expressing themselves. Come to find out how to use discarded books as the canvas/backdrop/paper for students to show what they have learned in a creative manner. This workshop will combine technology, scrapbooking and collage techniques to create a visual journal, a curriculum content expression, a monthly project, or a way to compare and contrast ideas. Interactive Response Systems: Ready, Set, Engage! Interactive Response Systems are quickly changing the way we deliver class lessons. Participants will experience how these devices help educators engage every learner 100% of the time. In addition, student data is collected and recorded with each response allowing teachers to easily analyze student and class progress for remediation or continuation. Infusing Technology in All Curriculum Areas This workshop will look at the NJCCCS in all curriculum areas (except 8.1 which is being given in another presentation) and highlight the benchmarks that can benefit from the use of technology. Suggestions about specific software applications and activities will be included.

Even discover the "insider's" Google to secure top academic links.... Attendees will be amazed at the scope of resources to be presented. Newly uncovered, thoroughly tested, interactive websites for all areas of the curriculum will also be shared. In addition, there will be a demonstration of some highly recommended software. Virtual Classroom Channel Alpha's virtual classroom technology allows schools to broadcast regular, in-session classes over the Internet for the benefit of students who are unable to attend school. Students are virtually in the classroom, looking at the whiteboard, listening to the teacher speak and interacting with the teacher via microphone. is invited to share their ideas in order to revise the NETS-T to reflect
