....Who we are...

Who We Are

NJAET is a group of educators (teachers, computer coordinators, administrators, consultants, etc.) who are working to promote the use of technology in education. Purposes of the organization include:

  • establish communication among educational technologists
  • provide a forum for the discussion and resolution of common problems
  • promote effective programs
  • enhance training and educational opportunities throughout the state
  • expand the view of the role of technology in education held by educators and the public
  • encourage the application of information technology and current research for improving instruction.
We work cooperatively with the Educational Technology Office of the State Department of Education and with ETTCs around the state

What We Do

Annual Technology Conference - For many years, NJAET has held successful technology conferences, most recently at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. Conferences provide hands-on workshops, lectures, and demonstrations geared towards the latest technology as well as tried-and-true methods and lessons. And don't forget the opportunity for "good ol' fashioned" networking, face-to-face.

Annual Spring Meeting - The Annual Spring Meeting is another opportunity for NJAET members to get together to share and learn. This meeting is held in the evening and is more relaxed than the conference. This event is an opportunity to meet your NJAET Board members and greet others in the field of educational technology.

TechEvents - TechEvents offer a chance to network with peers to discuss relevant technology topics and gain new information. Early TechEvents focused on the first schools to implement educational technology. More recent TechEvents have been joint presentations between NJAET and various ETTCs. TechEvents are advertised on this website and in the NJAET News.

NJAET News - The NJAET News is published whenever appropriate depending on the amount and timeliness of the information it contains. Over the course of a year, this averages approximately one issue every three weeks.

NJAET Journal - The Journal is published quarterly. Articles are submitted by members and we are always looking for submissions and/or sugestions. Reprints from other technology sources are also included as appropriate. Articles are available online at njaet.org.

NJAET is an affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).  This alliance provides our members with reduced prices on ISTE memberships, courses, books, etc.
