The revised 2014 Technology Standard was approved / adopted by the NJ State Board of Education on Oct. 1, 2014 and implementation of this standard for schools across New Jersey begins with the 2015-16 school year.

If professional development bcomes available prior to that I’ll send out an update. Your curriculum needs to be updated as there definitely are changes to the standard. Technological literacy will use Standard 8 as its baseline for student achievement.
Samsung Electronics America, is awarding $2 million in technology grants to public schools (grades 6-12) to promote STEM education. We are asking teachers to submit an online application telling us how technology could be used to help their local community. 255 semifinalists will each receive 2 Galaxy Tabs; 51 state finalists will receive a minimum of $20,000 in technology and prizes including camcorders, laptop computers and editing software to create a video of their project. 15 finalists will win a trip to "pitch" their project and their videos will be posted online for voting. 5 grand prize winners will win $120,000 in technology and other prizes and will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in Washington, DC and possibly meet with their Congressional representative.
