The New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Student Support Services, is pleased to announce the release of the  New Jersey Afterschool/Summer Program Notice of Grant Opportunity (NGO). 

You may view and download this NGO at http://www.nj.gov/education/grants/gropps.shtml ; click on “All Currently Available Grant Opportunities”, then click on “New Jersey Afterschool/Summer Program”.

This grant opportunity is open to all national or statewide, public or private 501(c)(3) youth-serving organizations.  Further information regarding eligibility can be found within the NGO.

A technical assistance workshop will be held on February 12, 2015. Registration details are located in the NGO.

The ISTE Games and Simulation Network will present a Google Hangout with Emmanuel Schanzer, Program Director of Bootstrapworld.org.  Emmanuel will demonstrate how the Bootstrap coding program is used to teach students algebraic concepts by creating video games.  Bootstrapworld has been contracted by the code.org group to provide professional development to middle school math teachers.  The Google Hangout will be live streamed and participants can watch and engage via youtube at https://www.youtube.com/user/gamesmooc.  This presentation is brought to you via the ISTE Games and Simulation Network in collaboration with Inevitable Instructors. https://www.youtube.com/user/gamesmooc
