Future Ready Schools: 2015 School Leadership Summit, June 24th

Each year TICAL holds an annual School Leadership Summit. This year's Summit, on June 24th from 8:00-4:30 PDT, will focus on the pillars of the U.S. Department of Education's Future Ready Pledge. The Pledge is a commitment by district leaders to work with educators, families, and community members to make all schools in their districts Future Ready. The Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education (CMSCE)  in partnership with the NJ Makerspace Association is hosting this exciting K-12 Maker Education Conference! 

The Maker Movement has sparked a creative learning revolution and makerspaces are popping up in more and more schools and communities today!  The Maker Movement is more than just makerspaces with cool tech tools--it is about a maker mindset.  It cultivates kids who are: self directed, purpose driven, resourceful, and iterativeWe need to foster maker mindsets in our kids by giving them an opportunity to figure things out on their own, to construct for themselves solutions to problems they desire to solve!

Join CMSCE and the NJ Maker Association for our first Maker Education Conference. 

Date: August 13 & 14, 2015

Time: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM Location: Rutgers University- CMSCE (Busch Campus) CMSCE will provide a lite breakfast (8:30 AM - 9:00 AM) and a box lunch (11:30 AM - 12:00 PM)

The event will have 6 strands with two 2-hour session per day (Day 1- Sessions 1 & 2, Day 2- Sessions 3 & 4).  You can follow one stand or pick and choose sessions from any stand!  There will be time to meet and see our awesome maker vendors during breakfast, lunch and at the end of the day as well.  Stay tuned, we will be sharing session details, vendors attending, as well as announcing our keynote speakers next week!
