NJAET News - March 1, 2007
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a group, we are stronger (and smarter) than we are as individuals. It's nice to see that members are starting to respond to our requests for feedback on different topics. Since there may be more than one request for feedback in an issue of NJAET News, or you may be responding to an earlier issue, we ask that you include a sentence or subject that helps us know which request you are responding to. Sometimes it's obvious, but other times it is not. Thank you.
2007 AALF Regional Leadership Summit in Secaucus, New Jersey on March 5, 2007
REGISTRATION CLOSES 5 PM PST FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2007
The purpose in providing this summit – one of five around the U.S. – is to develop 1-to-1 leadership among the highest echelons of the K-12 education community including superintendents, principals, and technology directors. The very best in 1-to-1 leadership is being brought to our area to answer all of our questions on leading 1-to-1 programs, including:
· How the superintendent provides vision for 1-to-1 at the district level,
· Incorporating critical components to make 1-to-1 work… from the beginning,
· What 1-to-1 looks like from the student perspective – a session led by experienced 1-to-1 educators, and
· 1-to-1 Principals: Why the principal is a linchpin figure in day-to-day success of 1-to-1 at schools.
The cost of the workshop is $129 for AALF members and $169 for non-members. For further information, visit http://www.aalf.org/Events/cf_summits.aspx.
From My Classroom to Yours
Save the Date
The Southern Regional Institute (SRI) and ETTC invites you to join them at the 7th Annual “From My Classroom to Yours” Conference on the campus of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey - Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
This year’s conference will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the New Jersey Network of ETTCs and will honor the program’s designer – Julia Stapleton, former Director of the NJDOE’s Office of Educational Technology.
“From My Classroom to Yours” features a collegial environment where teachers, technology coordinators and curriculum supervisors can share ideas on technology integration and best practices for the classroom. This year’s tracks are character education, distance learning, language arts and literacy, math and science education, and technology integration. Several computer labs will be available for hands-on sessions in addition to traditional "show-and-tell" demonstrations. Registration and Conference Details are available at the conference website.
Are you interested in presenting for us at this year’s conference? Proposals can now be submitted. Of most interest are classroom strategies, projects, and innovative uses of educational technology to teach core subjects. Presentations will last 60 minutes and presenters can indicate if they prefer using a computer lab for a hands-on session or would prefer an electronic classroom to provide a more traditional "show-and-tell" demonstration. Visit http://www.ettc.net/conference/index.htm and “Register to Present”
Register to Attend the Conference in early March by visiting the conference website at www.ettc.net/conference.
