Grant Opportunity for Educators

International grants from the GenevaLogic Foundation of Switzerland

ISTE 100 Member GenevaLogic announces new grant opportunity for educators

The GenevaLogic Visionary Grants are international grants from the GenevaLogic Foundation of Switzerland that help schools equip their computers with classroom management software to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning. A total of four grants will be awarded consisting of two classroom grants and two full school-site grants along with ISTE memberships for the participating educators. Accepting Submissions: October 1st, 2007 – December 28th, 2007
Deadline: Midnight December 28th, 2007
Awards: Grants will be awarded on or before January 31st, 2008
Grant Value: $10,000

Laptop Institute Partnership

Learning anytime, anywhere

The Anytime Anywhere Learning Foundation (AALF) and Lausanne Collegiate School (LCS) have announced that they have joined forces to co-produce the 2008 Laptop Institute. Through this partnership, the Laptop Institute will become the world's major educational conference devoted solely to K-12 laptop learning. For further information, read their press release.

HP Proposal Reviewers Needed

Applications due by November 23, 2007

Proposal reviewers are needed for the 2008 HP Technology for Teaching Grant Initiative. Reviewers will gain valuable insights about successful grant writing, and enjoy the satisfaction of helping deserving schools. The HP grant review process involves a limited time commitment with the flexibility of online reviewing.

Please read the announcement to find out requirements and timelines for participation. Applications to be a reviewer are due November 23rd.

Speak Up for Education Technology

Make your voice heard

Speak Up is a national online research project that annually surveys students, teachers, and parents on key educational issues and then shares the information with local and national policy-makers. Since its inception, more than 850,000 surveys have been collected. The survey period this year is October 15–December 15. Learn more at http://www.netdayspeakup.org.

Key NECC Dates

November 7, 2007: Housing reservations go live online; reserve early for best selection!

Mid-February, 2008: Registrations for workshops, tours, and ticketed events goes live online.

March 31, 2008: Deadline for registering at the Super Early Bird rate.

May 1, 2008: Deadline for registering at the Early Bird rate.

June 29-July 2, 2008: NECC in San Antonio.

NOTE: The Opening Keynote and Reception will be held on the evening of Sunday, June 29 — please make your travel plans accordingly. See the preliminary schedule for more information.

Applications due by April 1, 2008

The deadline for applications for the 2008 NJAET Technologist of the Year Award is April 1, 2008. The technologist chosen will receive a plaque, free registration to the 2008 NJAET Conference, and $1,000 to be used as the winner sees fit.
